Minority Leader Mike Lynch Reacts to Injection Sites Being Stopped

(Colorado State Capitol, April 26th, 2023)

Minority Leader Mike Lynch (R-Wellington) released the following statement in response to HB23-1202 “Overdose Prevention Center Authorization,” dying in a bipartisan vote in the Senate today.

This bill would have given cities authority to impose drug injection sites in neighborhoods, close to schools without restrictions, and would not have helped those suffering from addiction.

“Safe injection sites, HB23-1202, would have misused tax dollars to facilitate the use of illicit drugs and extended the nightmare for those struggling with drug addiction.” said House Minority Leader Mike Lynch. “I am grateful to the senate for putting an end to this poorly thought out bill before it created more Colorado opioid tragedies in our state.” (https://www.coloradohouserepublicans.com/)
